Today, the 8th of March, 1702, King William III, Prince of Orange, died at Kensington Palace of pneumonia and not from falling off a horse. When William’s corpse was being undressed, a gold locket on a black ribbon was found around his neck. It held a lock of Mary’s dark hair. -
